Herdwick sheep have been in and around the Lake District for centuries. Herdwick sheep are a sturdy breed, producing unique coarse grey wool. Herdwicks are one of the most hardy of all the British sheep breeds. They are adept at withstanding the cold and relentless rain and ever changing weather of the Lake District.
